Flu Clinics 2021
We have run two very successful flu clinics in October at the QE High School and all patients at risk or over 65 have been invited by letter.
We apologise that the NHS have sent reminders to all people who are eligible before they have allowed our vaccine deliveries to be confirmed.
The Clinics will be held on Saturday 4th December. at Queen Elizabeth High School, Ashfields, HR7 4QS. Invitations will be sent to all eligible patients soon. If you have not received your invitation letter by Monday 29th November but believe your are eligible, please contact Reception. YOU MUST BRING YOUR LETTER WITH YOU TO YOUR APPOINTMENT.

COVID Boosters and third doses for immunosuppressed patients
The site at Ledbury where our primary care network has been delivering covid vaccinations unfortunately has to close at the end of November 2021. Anyone due a booster will be able to attend a National Booking Centre - there are centres in Bromyard, Hereford, Malvern, Worcester and many other sites. Bookings can be made online or by telephoning 119. You should receive a reminder either by text or letter from the NHS or the surgery. A booster must be 6 months after the date of your second vaccination.
Immunosuppressed patients. Some patients are being identified as being immunosuppressed at the time of their first or second covid vaccination and therefore may not have had a full response. These people are therefore being invited for a third primary vaccination in addition to a booster.
We are currently checking all these patients and have invited those who would not yet be due a booster. However, we continue to check those for whom it is six months since their second vaccination as they will be invited for a booster but it may be decided that this should infact be a third dose and they will need a further booster in 6 months' time. You will be notified if this is the case.

COVID-19 Vaccination Certification
We are unable to issue these certificate at the practice.

Proof of your vaccination status will be available on the NHSapp.
The NHSapp can be downloaded from here for iPhone or here for android. Once ID has been confirmed by the app, we will change your access level to view this information within 7 days. Please only contact the surgery after 7 days if you still do not have access.
Alternatively you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17 May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine, the letter may to take up to 5 days to reach you.

During the COVID-19 pandemic we have been operating a Total Triage service for all requests, whether for an appointment or other type of request, clinical or administrative.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, NHS England and NHS Improvement have supported all GP practices in England with the rapid implementation of a ‘total triage’ model using telephone and online consultation tools.
Total triage means that every patient contacting the practice is first triaged before making an appointment. We will be asking you to speak to the most appropriate clinician on the telephone who can help you as quickly as possible. It is possible for the doctor or nurse to do your consultation via video call but if the doctor feels that you need a face to face appointment this will be arranged for you.
Total triage is important to reduce avoidable footfall in practices and protect patients and staff from the risks of infection
Managing your health at home
To maintain social distancing and prevent the spread of the coronavirus, you are advised to stay at home as much as possible. While you are at home it's still easy to get NHS help and support using your smartphone, tablet or computer.

- contact your GP
- order repeat prescriptions
- manage long-term conditions
- maintain your mental and physical wellbeing
If you need an NHS service, try to do it online first. If you cannot get what you need this way try asking a friend or family member to help you, or speak to your GP surgery on the phone.

Nunwell Surgery is a semi rural practice serving approximately 9500 patients scattered across an area of approximately 150 square miles.
There has been a surgery in this location since the late 1800’s.
We aim to provide the highest possible level of health care for our patients.

We are a General Medical Services Practice (an NHS contract definition) which enables the practice to provide locally negotiated services.
Disabled access and facilities
Nunwell Surgery has good access for patients who are disabled or have mobility difficulties. A designated parking bay is adjacent to the surgery entrance and the surgery has a ramp and wide doors to allow for wheelchair access. All consultation rooms are accessible in a wheelchair. A wheelchair is available to use within the surgery should you require one.
There are Braille signs throughout the building to assist visually impaired patients, and we also have the Hearing Loop system for hearing aid users.
If you require any assistance, do not hesitate to ask.
